How Aware is the World of Autism?
The 2nd of April was World Autism Awareness day. I used the opportunity of the opening of an art exhibition to ask some people attending a few questions on autism. Ten interviews are shown in the video linked here.
Whilst none knew it was World Autism Awareness day, quite a few knew a fair amount on autism and collectively the level of knowledge was high. Not too surprisingly many had either someone with autism in their family or been in touch with someone in their life. Suggestions on what would help were also very positive and encouraging. I am not sure how representative these people were of the general population, but overall these accounts are encouraging.
